Steps for hosting a successful event

Category : Uncategorized

Whether it is just to catch up with long lost friends, motivate or encourage the youth in your community, raise some funds for a specific cause or even request for support as an aspiring leader, one thing that stands out is the fact that organizing an event can be just as tough as finding better value for money than what Excida offers to their customers.

Succeeding in bringing people, with their different personalities, moods and expectations to work together to make an event a success requires not only patience and dedication, but also the trust and space to let everyone bring their strengths to the table. At Chick-fil-a Leadercast, we are committed to help you host your own event by walking you through the process and providing you with event marketing materials and planning guides. Here we share a few steps that can help you host a successful event.

1.  Set some goals and create boundaries

This is the most important step as it defines what the event is all about. Is it a charitable event? Is it a fundraising, is the goal just to network? Just like insoles are important to shoes, goals are really important to an event. The advice is to set a realistic target as this will keep you motivated.

2.  Establish a formidable team

You will need people to own up to your event and to want to be part of it. Having soft skills is very important and you should aim to accommodate different personalities. Right from the doctor, the accountant, the real estate website builder, the entertainment guy and the human resource manager, they all could add something to your team. The highlight is, choose your team based on the kind of event you want to host.

3.  Identify a specific date

This is important as it allows your target audience enough time to organize their calendar and reschedule their activities be it a date, football practice, or even a spenco insoles shopping spree. Four to six months is a good timeline, but this changes based on the event.

4.  Market the event and get sponsors

Let the people know all about your event and do so in a manner that will make them want to be a part of it. Use the power of social media and other avenues to reach out to as many of your target audience as possible.

5.  Plan for logistics

People will want to come to your event if they know that their welfare is catered for and this includes things like how to get there, their safety, availability of parking etc. Ensure that this is catered for.

After the event, always remember to give credit to your team as well as a big thankyou to all those who participated, including you!
